Toby Olsen

Toby is widely recognized for his leadership, operational expertise, and commitment to building high-performing hotel teams.

Prior to founding Elevara, Toby served as President of P4 Hospitality, where he played a pivotal role in expanding the company's portfolio across Oregon, Washington, and Idaho. Under his leadership, P4 provided a wide range of services including hotel management, revenue management, sales and marketing, human resources, accounting, and pre-opening/renovation consulting.

Before his time with P4, Toby successfully operated his own hotel consulting business, assisting properties nationwide with operational improvements, management transitions, sales strategy, and turnaround projects—particularly focusing on underperforming hotels.

Toby began his hospitality journey during college, starting as a Night Auditor and quickly progressing to Night Manager, and later, Area Revenue Manager for Starwood Hotels. He earned his degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management, gaining valuable hands-on experience across various brands including Hilton, Choice Hotels, Best Western, Wyndham, IHG, Starwood, and several independent properties.

Toby's passion for hospitality began early in life, inspired by frequent travels with his father to sporting events and business meetings. This early exposure gave him insight into hotel operations and sparked a lifelong dedication to the industry.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Toby is deeply committed to community engagement. He currently serves on the Travel Salem Executive Board, is the Past President and Founder of the Salem Area Sports Commission and actively participates in youth sports organizations. He’s a sponsor and former coach with both the Washington Timbers Soccer Club and the Clark County YMCA, and he also serves on the Capitol City Basketball Board.

Toby is proud of the numerous awards and recognitions his hotel teams have earned over the years. He takes special pride in mentoring team members and watching them grow into leaders in the hospitality industry.

Toby lives in Washington with his wife Shelley and their two children, Chase and Hannah. His inspiration continues to come from building meaningful relationships and creating exceptional guest experiences across the hotels he leads.
